Museum Mural
The Warrensburg Museum of Local History features the 72' long Warrensburgh Bicentennial Mural on its south wall. This was created in 1976 by the late Eva Cockcroft, internationally know public artist and muralist. The Warrensburgh Historical Society restored it in 2007, with generous funding from townspeople and a grant from the Charles R. Wood Foundation. Stage artist and muralist, Mary Lovendusky accomplished the entire restoration.

Current Special Exhibit through January 15:

My Dolly - Favorite dolls from the community.

Exhibit curator, Delbert Chambers invited townspeople and neighbors to submit their favorite doll for this show. Two dozen responded with more than 50 dolls that run the gamut, from antique treasures to "warm and fuzzy."  Delbert put together a great little show which is a hit here in Warrensburg.
The exhibit had a preview for exhibitors on December 2 and will remain on display through Sunday, January 15.  The Museum is open Wednesdays 1-4 PM and Sundays 1-3 PM, plus (new hours) Fridays 11 AM - 1 PM.  We're also open First Thursdays, 6-8 PM.

The museum exhibits a large collection of photographs, clothing, and other fiber artifacts, tools, furniture, household objects, farm equipment, and memorabilia.  Exhibits are arranged in chronological order, from Glacial to Global.   Located along the Schroon River, which provided ample opportunity for industrial water power, Warrensburg rose to preeminence in the 19th century with sawmills, industrial tanning, paper making, and clothing manufacture, which continued into the latter half of the 20th century.

Founded in 1975, the museum was renovated and reorganized, and re-opened July, 2009, with all new exhibits.  Owned and generously financed by the Town of Warrensburg, the museum is operated under contract with the Warrensburgh Historical Society. With all volunteer help, the entire collection has been cleaned, stored (or exhibited) and catalogued using PastPerfect Museum Software.
